IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment Ellen Lord and Dr. Eric Schmidt, chairman, Defense Innovation Board, will conduct a press briefing at 12:30 p.m. EDT, Friday, May 3, in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973) on the Defense Innovation Board’s final report of the year-long Software Acquisition and Practices (SWAP) analysis of the department’s software acquisition and development practices, and how the defense technological advantage is now linked to software. They will be joined by board members Richard Murray, the Thomas E. and Doris Everhart Professor of Control and Dynamical Systems and Bioengineering, California Institute of Technology; Dr. Michael McQuade, vice president of research, Carnegie Mellon University; and Gilman Louie, Co-Founder, Alsop-Louie Partners.
Both U.S. and foreign journalists without a Pentagon building pass must be pre-registered in the Pentagon Visitor Management System to attend this press briefing; plan on being escorted from the River Entrance Pedestrian Bridge or the Pentagon Metro Entrance Facility only.
