How do you support NNSA?
I contribute to NNSA’s mission by programming and executing crucial infrastructure projects across the enterprise, aimed at modernizing our outdated infrastructure to meet the demands of today’s expanding mission. It’s my responsibility to collaborate with experts to translate their insights and requirements into tangible solutions through new construction, repair, or acquisition of new facilities.

What is your personal background, and how has that shaped you and your approach to your career?
Growing up, I was fortunate to witness firsthand the dedication and craftsmanship that my father and grandfather poured into building our family ranch. This early exposure to construction sparked my journey into the field of architecture, where I now combine my creative visions with project management skills to deliver innovative facilities that make a lasting impact for NNSA.

What is the best part about your job?
The most rewarding aspect of my job is collaborating with exceptional individuals willing to try new and innovative strategies to support the crucial mission of NNSA. I am entrusted with a responsibility that I take very seriously, and being able to serve my country in such a unique capacity fills me with pride and gratitude.

Do you have any highlights from your time working at or supporting NNSA?
One of the most memorable moments of my career with NNSA was being honored with the DOE Federal Project Director of the Year award for my contributions to the Albuquerque Complex Project. This project, which had languished since the late 1970s, was in dire need of replacement and I am proud to have played a pivotal role in bringing it to completion. Overcoming the significant challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, including construction delays and logistical hurdles, was no small feat. However, with perseverance and dedication, the project team successfully navigated those obstacles, ultimately delivering a state-of-the-art facility that not only met the needs of the present but also laid the foundation for the future. Seeing the culmination of our efforts and the positive impact it had on the NNSA community was truly gratifying.

Since it’s Women’s History Month, is there a woman in history or in your life that has inspired you?
My mother has been an enduring source of inspiration in my life. Her tireless work ethic, unwavering support, and boundless encouragement have enabled me to become the woman, wife, and mother I am today. Her gentle spirit and acts of kindness to anyone she meets have left a lasting mark on my heart, reminding me of the importance of compassion and empathy in everything I do. I am grateful for her presence in my life and aspire to emulate the strength, grace, and unconditional love that she embodies every day.
